Customer is an emergency services entity with one of the larger counties in the state of Virginia. The emergency service group fields 911 calls and dispatches appropriate units to the required location. The customer, being in a critical industry, was facing challenges with aging infrastructure and issues with resiliency. If the technology supporting the 911 dispatch group was to fail, operations would be slowed in potential emergency situations, where time is crucial.
Achieve One worked with the Dell team to propose two 4-node VxRail appliances, sitting in separate data centers. These two VxRails were configured to replicate between each other, giving the customer the fail-safe of not only the VxRail platform, but another site to operate from, if necessary.
The customer not only has an easier platform to manage, but they were able to alleviate concerns around down time with updates. The VxRail gives them the ability to perform live updates to the system without worrying about the concern of failure. With a smaller IT staff, ease of management and the additional redundancy that the VxRail platform provided the emergency services group, were two of the largest selling points.
